Ash-colored cuckoo

The ash-colored cuckoo (Coccycua cinerea) is an American bird species of the cuckoo family (Cuculidae). It was formerly placed in the genus Coccyzus or Micrococcyx. Following the discovery that it belongs to a distinct lineage around the little cuckoo, the genus Coccycua has been reinstated for these. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay and has been reported from Colombia and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
