Assent of faith
Assent of faith or full assent of faith is belief in Roman Catholic dogma, shown by obedience of faith. The exemplar of obedience of faith is the Virgin Mary, who assented to the Word of God at the Annunciation: "Let it be done to me according to your word." Assent of faith does not rest "on a mass of probabilities" but on God, and the Church can and does demand assent of faith to her judgments, as is her right and duty.
