Bakelite Museum
The Museum is housed in Orchard Mill, which has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II listed building. It used to be a watermill and still has the original workings in place, including the water wheel. In September 2010 a fire safety inspection found various problems which needed to be rectified if the museum was to remain open to the public and satisfy the Regulatory Reform (Fire safety) Order 2005. Improved access to the museum was created in 2012 by the addition of an elegant outside staircase by a local blacksmith.
