Bertiolo

Bertiolo (Friulian: Bertiûl) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Udine. As of 31 December 2006, it had a population of 2,555 and an area of 26.2 square kilometres (10.1 sq mi). The municipality of Bertiolo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Virco, Pozzecco, and Sterpo. Bertiolo borders the following municipalities: Codroipo, Lestizza, Rivignano, Talmassons, Varmo.
