Charles Nelson (writer)
Charles Nelson (born 1942) is an American writer, best known for his 1981 novel The Boy Who Picked the Bullets Up. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he moved to DeLand, Florida with his family at age 12 and later graduated from Stetson University. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. The Boy Who Picked the Bullets Up is the subject of an essay by Jim Marks in the 2010 non-fiction anthology The Lost Library: Gay Fiction Rediscovered.
