Ecuador competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. This was the nation's tenth consecutive appearance at the Olympics, although it had first competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. Ecuador failed to win an Olympic medal for the second consecutive time. Former Olympic champion and race walker Jefferson Pérez missed a chance to grab his second medal after finishing fourth in the men's 20 km walk.
