Lieutenant General Gerry H. De Silva RWP, VSV, USP is a Sri Lankan general. He was the 13th Commander of the Sri Lankan Army and Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan. Attached to the Gemunu Watch, Major De Silva was deployed in counter insurgency operations during the 1971 Insurrection and thereafter served with the Task Force Anti Illicit Immigration (TaFAII). In 1981 as a Lieutenant Colonel he was the commanding officer of the 1st Gemunu Watch and Officer Commanding Troops Jaffna, before taking over as head of the Combat Training School. As a Brigadier he was the Commanded 2 Brigade Group and Overall Operations Commander.
