Gauriganj (Hindi: गौरीगंज) is a town in Amethi District in Faizabad division, Uttar Pradesh,India. It is situated about 126 km from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Gauriganj is the administrative headquarters of Amethi district. It is located in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Before July 2010, Gauriganj was part of Sultanpur district and then taking Gauriganj, Amethi, Jais, Jagdispur, Salon etc. formed a new district called "Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar", later named Gauriganj and now Amethi.
