Gazi Golam Mostafa

Gazi Golam Mostafa is a Bangladesh Awami League politician, and a former member of East Pakistan provincial assembly. He was a former President and General Secretary of Dhaka city Awami league. He supported Janakantha newspaper with annual donations. He was a close associate of Sheikh Mujib, the first president of Bangladesh. In 1974 he kidnapped Major Shariful Haque (Dalim) and his wife from Dhaka Ladies Club after an argument. He took them to Rakhi Bahini headquarters. The incident also involved his two sons. Bengal Lancer ransacked his house as a result of the incident. Some officers lost their job. The officers involved including the Bengal Lancers and Major Shariful Haque were part of the coup on 16 August 1975 and Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was jailed during the regim
