Gillig Low Floor

The Gillig Low Floor is a transit bus manufactured by the Gillig Corporation in Hayward, California. Nicknamed "Advantage" due to the low-floor design for wheelchair access, the Gillig Low Floor was introduced in 1996 and is available in 29', 35' and 40' lengths. A diesel-electric hybrid version was introduced in 2004. Frameless side windows are an optional feature. The front section of the bus, including both doorways, is low-floor. The front door is equipped with a wheelchair ramp which may be operated via an electronic motor or manually, and steps lead up to the high-floor section behind the rear door. The Gillig Low Floor bus is also available in a suburban version.
