"Golliwog" ("Gulleplutt") was one of the first attempts by Agnetha Fältskog to enter the charts outside Sweden. The eight German-language music singles she released didn't enter the charts. But with Golliwog the intention was that not only Germany but all of Europe would get to know Agnetha. The "Golliwog" single was not successful in either Sweden or Europe, even though Agnetha was already known as a part of ABBA. In fact the German release stated "Agnetha von ABBA" to increase the sales, but this didn't help the single.
