Nicholas D. Miller, (better known as Illenium), was born in San Francisco. He began making electronic dance music in early 2008 and quickly became known for his production quality and content. In the summer of 2012, after seeing Bassnectar perform a show at Red Rocks, he became passionate about working on his first release; where the DJ notes: "when I saw him, I got the Ableton the next day."
