Indian Institute of Mass Communication
The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is an Indian media centre of learning funded and promoted by the Government of India in New Delhi. IIMC is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Its one of India's premier institutes for training, teaching and research in mass communication. It was set up by the Government of India in 1965 on the recommendation of a team of internationally known mass communication specialists from UNESCO and the Ford Foundation.The then Minister in charge of Information and Broadcasting, Indira Gandhi formally inaugurated the Institute on 17 August 1965.
