John FitzGerald, 4th Earl of Desmond
John FitzGerald, 4th Earl of Desmond (died 1398) was the son of Gerald FitzGerald, 3rd Earl of Desmond. He married and had one son, Thomas, who succeeded him as Earl of Desmond. Alfred Webb states of the 4th Earl of Desmond: "In 1398 he disappeared, and is fabled to live beneath the waters of Lough Gur, near Kilmallock, on whose banks he appears once every seven years."
