Jolfa, Iran (city)

Jolfa (Persian: جلفا‎‎; also Romanized as Jolfā, Julfa, and Dzhulfi) is a city in and capital of Jolfa County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,983, in 1,365 families. Jolfa is located to the north of Tabriz, separated by the Aras River from its northern neighbor and namesake, the town of Julfa in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
