Ked, Rajasthan

Ked village, Indiais a village in Jhunjhunu district Rajasthan situated on the banks of Katli river which flows between the village and Shaktidham, the sacred Ked temple. Its present existence is attributed to the hosting of holy plant Ker by Pahuramji Kedia and Bholaramji Kedia with support from a famous dacoit Jabardi Khan in 1439. After the creation of the new village, Jabardi Khan became its first Nawab. Udaipurwati Ked eventually became a sub-province of repute within the Sekhawati province. Ked has witnessed more modern development since 1974 including a tourist resort.
