The King Byerd is a Cornish cultivar of domesticated apple. Fruits are of green colour, turning yellow with ripening, with flecks of red and grey russet. Tree is a heavy cropping, producing large fruit. Harvested from late October with sharp taste mostly recommended for cooking, and at its best in January when tartness mellows. Uses for dual purpose. Susceptible to apple scab
