Kore Press
Kore Press is an American nonprofit literary press founded in 1993 and located in Tucson, Arizona. The press publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction by women. The press was co-founded by Lisa Bowden (publisher) and poet Karen Falkenstrom. According to its mission statement, the aims of Kore Press are "to publish and distribute excellent works of literary and artistic value by a diversity of women, including those traditionally underrepresented in the cultural mainstream; to promote those voices; and to educate young people about publishing and literary activism." Kore Press publishes manuscripts accepted through general submission and annually awards prizes for a first book of poetry and for a collection of short fiction.
