Koverninsky District

Koverninsky District (Russian: Коверни́нский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,339.8 square kilometers (903.4 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Kovernino. Population: 19,951 (2010 Census); 21,404 (2002 Census); 24,063 (1989 Census). The population of Kovernino accounts for 34.5% of the district's total population.
