ECAC Hockey is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I ice hockey-only conference, formerly affiliated with the larger Eastern College Athletic Conference, and based in Albany, New York. At the conclusion of each regular season, it holds the ECAC Hockey Men's Ice Hockey Tournament to determine its conference champion, which it has done since the foundation of the conference in 1962. The ECAC tournament is the second-oldest active collegiate ice hockey conference tournament behind only the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), which began in 1960.
