Local Xpress
Local Xpress is an online newspaper based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was founded in 2016 by 57 members of the Halifax Typographical Unit's newsroom unit while striking from The Chronicle Herald, the city's daily newspaper. The writers work on a volunteer basis. The Herald continues to publish using strikebreakers writing anonymously. The strikers say that Herald management have refused to meet with them, but that if the strike is resolved, Local Xpress will be shut down.
