Mishmar HaEmek

Mishmar HaEmek (Hebrew: מִשְׁמַר הָעֵמֶק, lit. Guard of the Valley) is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located in the western Jezreel Valley, it falls under the jurisdiction of Megiddo Regional Council. Mishmar HaEmek is unique among other kibbutzim because it is one of the last that haven't undergone a liberalization process and still work by the traditional collectivist and socialist model of the kibbutzim. At least five members of the Knesset, Israel's legislative body, originated from Mishmar HaEmek. In 2015 it had a population of 1,216.
