Model 43 grenade

The Model 43 Stielhandgranate was a hand grenade introduced by the German Army mid-way through World War II to replace its earlier Model 24 stick grenade. Production was simplified and versatility enhanced by combining the explosive charge and fuse to form a self-contained unit. The Model 43 used the same BZE 39 fuse assembly as the egg-shaped Model 39 Eierhandgranate, which was screwed into the top of the explosive charge.
