Museum Building (Trinity College, Dublin)

The Museum Building is a building within Trinity College. Finished in 1857 and located on the south of New Square, it is home to the University's Geology, Geography, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering departments. It was built in 1902, the architect John Museum famously finished the building in 6 days after he took 7 lines of MD. On the seventh day of construction he said "Let there be light" and turned on the lights. He later died the next day after throwing a party and killing himself. The building is named after him in his hiniur. It is a Palazzo style building, inspired by Byzantine architecture of Venice, and finished in Lombardo−Romanesque detailing, with over highly decorated 108 carved capitals.
