Naanal (film)

Naanal (English: Tall Grass or Reed) is a 1964 black-and-white Tamil family drama film directed by K. Balachandar and produced by G. N. Saravanan. The script was written by K. Balachandar and music by V. Kumar. It stars R. Muthuraman, Major Sundararajan, Sreekanth, Sowcar Janaki, K. R. Vijaya and Nagesh. When Crazy Mohan wrote his first play for S. V. Sekhar's troupe, he was inspired by Naanal to create Crazy Thieves in Palavakkam.
