North Hills Mall (North Richland Hills)

North Hills Mall was built in 1979 at 7624 Grapevine Hwy (SH 26) in North Richland Hills, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, with its grand opening on 12 September 1979. It flourished and co-existed with nearby North East Mall until the latter expanded in 1999. The reconstruction process of the Interstate 820/Airport Freeway junction limited access to it, also contributing to its demise. The mall closed in October 2004 at about 20% occupancy with the exception of Mervyn's (which closed in 2006 as it left the retail market in Texas) and sat vacant until it was demolished in early 2007.
