Palezone shiner
The palezone shiner (Notropis albizonatus) is a rare species of ray-finned fish in the family Cyprinidae. It is native to Alabama and Kentucky in the United States. It once occurred in Tennessee, but it has been extirpated from the state. There are two populations remaining. It is a federally listed endangered species of the United States. This fish lives in flowing streams with clear water and rocky, sandy bottoms. Little is known about the ecology of the species. The species spawns in late spring and summer; little else is known about its reproduction.
