Ponazyrevsky District

Ponazyrevsky District (Russian: Поназыревский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,080 square kilometers (800 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Ponazyrevo. Population: 8,456 (2010 Census); 10,496 (2002 Census); 14,030 (1989 Census). The population of Ponazyrevo accounts for 57.2% of the district's total population.
