Provident Bangalore was a Bangalore Rural based Twenty20 cricket team part of the Karnataka Premier League. The team was owned by the Melmont Constructions, one of India's leading developers. Provident Bangalore finished second on the points table in the opening season of KPL. They won finial won by five wickets (with four balls remaining) against Belagavi Panthers. In the KPL Player Auction, the team bought young batsman Balachandra Akhil as the auction’s most expensive player. Balachandra Akhil was the captain of the team.
