Rachel E. Pruden-Herndon

Rachel E. Pruden-Herndon (1898–1979) became the first African-American woman attorney to be admitted to the Georgia Bar on December 27, 1942. She became the first African-American woman to be a City Court Judge in 1965. She was also the first African-American woman from Georgia admitted to practice before the Supreme Court.
