Robert T. Garrity Jr.
Robert T. Garrity Jr. (born March 23, 1949), is a lawyer in Harahan, Louisiana, who is a Republican former member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for suburban District 78 in Jefferson Parish. He served from 1988 to 1992 during the administration of Governor Buddy Roemer. In 1999, Garrity ran unsuccessfully for the District 5 seat on the Jefferson Parish Council. He was defeated by fellow Republican John Lavarine, 8,559 (58.6 percent) to 6,053 (41.2 percent). Lavarine was succeeded in 2004 by Jennifer Sneed Heebe, a former District 81 state House member.
