Russian presidential election, 2012

The 2012 Russian presidential election was held on 4 March 2012. There were five officially-registered candidates: four representatives of registered parties and one independent. The election was for a new, extended term of six years. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin received 63.64% of the vote with almost 100% of the votes counted. With this election, Putin secured a record third term in the Kremlin.
