Shinagawa

Shinagawa (品川区 Shinagawa-ku) is a special ward in Tokyo, Japan. While somewhat misleadingly referred to as Shinagawa City in bureaucratic English translations (it is not a city in its own right, but a subsection of the metropolis of Tokyo), in natural English it is more commonly known simply as Shinagawa, as Shinagawa Ward, or (particularly in street addresses) as Shinagawa-ku. The ward is home to ten embassies. As of 1 April 2016, the ward has an estimated population of 380,293 and a population density of 16,510 persons per km². The total area is 22.84 km².
