Vatulele

Vatulele (pronounced [Vaatuˈlele]) is a coral and volcanic island 320 kilometres (199 miles) south of Viti Levu, Fiji's largest island. Situated at 18.50° South and 177.63° East, Vatulele has an area of 32 square kilometres (12 square miles). Its maximum altitude is only 320 metres (1,050 feet). The island is inhabited by four villages, including Taunovo and Bouwaqa. Economic activities include coconut and taro farming. Vatulele is known for its Legend of the Red Prawns and Petroglyphs.
