Wenatchee Dome

The Wenatchee Dome is a large, igneous intrusion located on the southern end of Miller Street in Wenatchee, Washington. It is particularly notable in that it has a unique platy structure. Such sites are strong indicators of precious metals and gems, and can be found along fault lines, which often expose metals close to the surface where they can then be mined. The Wenatchee Dome was where the Cannon-Asamera gold mining operation was located before being closed in the 1990s, with all mining operations ceased by 1994.
