1979 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship

The 1979 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 85th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board. Ballyhale Shamrocks were the defending champions. On 11 November 1979, Ballyhale Shamrocks won the championship after a 3-12 to 1-06 defeat of Erin's Own in a final replay. It was their second championship title overall and their second title in succession.
