2024 Russian presidential election

Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Russia in March 2024. In accordance with electoral law, the first round will be held on Sunday, 17 March. The elections will be the first after the 2020 constitutional reforms. If no candidate receives more than half the vote, a second round will take place exactly three weeks later on 7 April 2024. As was the case in the 2018 presidential election, one of the most prominent opposition leaders, Alexei Navalny, is barred from running due to a prior criminal conviction, which is widely seen as politically motivated.
