Almetyevsk (Russian: Альме́тьевск, IPA: [ɐlʲˈmʲetʲjɪfsk]; Tatar: Әлмәт) is a city in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located on the left bank of the Zay River (Kama's tributary) 265 kilometers (165 mi) southeast of Kazan. Population: 146,393 (2010 Census); 140,437 (2002 Census); 129,008 (1989 Census); 77,000 (1969); 49,000 (1959).
