Anderson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 21,421. Its county seat is Lawrenceburg. The county was formed in 1827 and named for Richard Clough Anderson Jr., a Kentucky legislator, U.S. Congressman and Minister to Colombia. Anderson County is part of the Frankfort, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Lexington-Fayette-Richmond-Frankfort, KY Combined Statistical Area.
