Annesley

Annesley is a village and civil parish in the Ashfield district, in Nottinghamshire, England, located between Hucknall and Kirkby-in-Ashfield. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,096, increasing to 1,162 (including Annesley Woodhouse) at the 2011 Census. Nearby to the west is Annesley Woodhouse. Presumably the Annesley family, now spread worldwide, originally took its name from that of the village. It was once connected to Nottingham by rail, until Annesley railway station closed in 1953.
