Australian Broadcasting Control Board

The Australian Broadcasting Control Board was an Australian government agency whose main roles were to regulate commercial AM radio, Commercial TV broadcasting. It was also the introducer and regulator for FM broadcasting. It held public hearings and issued commercial broadcasting licenses. It performed the technical planning for the National and Commercial networks.The Postmaster-General's Department was responsible for the engineering functions for the National transmitter facilities and the Commercial stations did their own construction and installation.
