It became the first of their three number one hits in the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1989. In 1992, "Weird Al" Yankovic parodied this song and "Blame It on the Rain" as "The Plumbing Song" for his album Off the Deep End. The single was certified Gold in the USA by RIAA.
