Battle of Flirey

The Battle of Flirey (French: 1re Bataille de Flirey) was a battle of the First World War fought from 19 September to 11 October 1914. It resulted in a German victory against the French. The battle cut most of the roads and railways to the strategically important Fortified Region of Verdun (Région Fortifiée de Verdun [RFV]) and was to have a large effect on the course of the war.
