Birthright is a 1939 film by Oscar Micheaux, a talkie remake of his silent film Birthright, adapted from Thomas S. Stribling's novel of the same title (1922). Carman Newsome took the lead role of the black Harvard graduate facing racism played by J. Homer Tutt fifteen years earlier.
