Buninyong railway line
The Buninyong Line (also known as "Bunny Hop Line", or simply "The Bunny") was a Victorian Railways (Australia) branch line running south from Ballarat to the town of Buninyong. The line branched from the main Melbourne – Ballarat railway at and was 11 km long. The line was opened on 11 September 1889, with traffic commencing the following day, 12 September 1889 and finally closed on 1 December 1986. The section from Eureka to Buninyong closed much earlier on 2 February 1947. The line had previously closed to passenger services in 1930.
