Calnali

Calnali is a town and one of the 84 municipalities of Hidalgo, in central-eastern Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 190.2 km². Calnali is a Nahuatl name meaning house on the other side of the river. As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 15,815. Calnali supports six hotels, including three rustic eco-tourism lodges. The Centro de Investigaciones Cientifícas de las Huastecas 'Aguazarca'(CICHAZ) is located on the western outskirts of the municipal seat.
