Chilterns tunnel
The Chilterns tunnel is a twin-bore tunnel in England, which will carry the High Speed 2 (HS2) railway line underneath the Chiltern Hills. At 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) long, they are the longest tunnels in the HS2 project. . Tunnelling began in May 2021, and will take around three and a half years.
