China–Turkey relations

China–Turkey relations (simplified Chinese: 中国–土耳其关系; traditional Chinese: 中國–土耳其關係; pinyin: Zhōngguó-Tǔěrqí Guānxì; Turkish: Çin–Türkiye ilişkileri) refers to the international relations between China and Turkey. Current official relations were established in 1934 and Turkey recognized the People's Republic of China (PRC) on 5 August 1971. China and Turkey have maintained relations, despite China's conflicts with Turkic Uyghurs in Xinjiang and a Uyghur diaspora population residing in Turkey. Economic cooperation between the two countries has also been growing in recent years.
