Cieszanów

Cieszanów [t͡ɕeˈʂanuf] (Ukrainian: Тішанів or Цішанів or Чесанів, Tishaniv or Tsishaniv or Chesaniv; Yiddish: ציעשאנאָוו‎ Tsyeshanov) is a town in Lubaczów County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland. It has a population of 1,916 (02.06.2009). Cieszanów is located on the boundary of southern Roztocze, in the valley of the Brusienka river. In the Middle Ages, sandy shores of the river attracted Slavic settlers, who probably in the 10th century established a gord here.
