Dedan (now part of Al-'Ula, Saudi Arabia) was an oasis and city-state of north-western Arabia. It is mentioned several times in the Hebrew Bible. The word Dedan (Hebrew: דְּדָן Dəḏān; Arabic: دودان/دادان Dudan, Dadan, Daedan in Brenton's Septuagint Translation) means "low ground". The people of Dedan are called Dedanim (in Hebrew) or Dedanites.
